The Little Black Dress for Different Figures
Every woman needs a little black dress. It is flattering, classic and most definitely useful for the party season that comes around often. This article offers information about what type of little black dress is perfect for your own body shape. It’s a useful guide if you’re struggling to find something to fit your shape, Lipsy clothing has a wide range of dresses and you’re sure to find something to suit.
Bottom Heavy
If you have a figure that is bottom heavy, meaning you carry your weight around the bottom half of your body, then an A-line dress is what you are looking for. Alternatively, an empire waist (where the dress is fitted to the bust area, but then comes out beneath that) is also a great choice for bottom heavy ladies. The reason these styles are so good is because an A-line dress and an empire line dress will emphasise the upper body, taking all of the attention away from the bottom half of the body.
Top Heavy
If you are heavier on top then do not go for anything that is too revealing or cut too low. Wearing a low cut dress will draw the attention to the top of your body. The best style of neckline is something with a high scoop neck or a square neck. Additionally, you do not want to buy a dress made in a fabric that will hug too closely to your skin.
Boy Figures
For those ladies who are small with a very boyish figure (straight up and down) then you want a dress that hugs you tightly. Additionally, go for something with frills and gathering as this will give you shape. Be careful not to choose a dress that is too loose, because it is likely to drown you.
Length and Style
A general rule to follow is that if you have strapless dresses or one that is low cut then do not choose a dress that is shorter than just above the knee. If the dress you choose is less revealing up top, then do not be afraid to choose a shorter style.
Finally once you find a style that fits why don’t you introduce some colour into your wardrobe like the dresses below.

Male Model for Women’s Lingerie
The department store Hema in The Netherlands has decided to cast androgynous male model Andrej Pejic as the main model for their latest women’s lingerie campaign. Andrej Pejic has previously been used for both women’s wear and men’s wear by Gaultier and Marc Jacobs respectively. Some believe this is a controversial move on the part of Hema. Others believe it is a stroke of genius.
The department store Hema claim that the push up bra Andrej Pejic is modelling can boost women’s busts by two cups. This is illustrated by the fact that Andrej’s no-cup chest does appear to have been enhanced to a B cup in the advertising campaign pictures.
The campaign pictures have only recently been released. However, they have sparked a huge reaction and response, with Pejic’s agent referring to the campaign as revolutionary. Fans have been using online forums and social websites to comment, many believe the HEMA campaign is outstanding, stating that if a male model can look good in a push up bra, it must work.
It is believed that a male model has never modelled women’s underwear for an advert campaign before.

How to Dress For a Casual Job Interview
A man preparing for informal job interviews should not slack on fashion. It is still important for a man to look sharp, even if the job interview is not very formal. A few fashion tips can take an interviewee from average to stellar.
It is important for a man to consider more than just his clothing when preparing for a casual job interview. Tending to facial hair is a crucial component of overall fashion styling. For a casual interview, a cleanly shaven face or neatly trimmed beard is a desirable look.
In terms of clothing, a casual jacket will usually prove sufficient. For an informal job interview, it is not essential to wear a plain or solid coloured shirt under a jacket. A shirt with a pattern is acceptable. A tie is a nice touch to add to this look but it must coordinate with the pattern on the shirt. Jack & Jones clothing offers a great selection of casual shirts and lightweight jackets perfect for a casual job interview.
There are many options for trousers for a casual job interview. Some workplaces may even find dark denim or grey flannel mens trousers an acceptable look for a man. Flat front khakis can give off a stylish yet professional look for a casual interview. However, it is vital for a man to know the dress code of the company at which he is to be interviewed as these standards will enlighten him as to the way in which to dress.
Socks and shoes are also an important consideration. If possible, a man should match their socks with their trousers. For shoes, a man should try dress boots or leather slip-ons. This lends a professional look without going over the top. For an added touch, a man may wish to carry objects, such as a CV and business cards, in a simple leather case or portfolio. This will aid him in looking organised and prepared.

How to Dress For a Formal Interview
A job interview is a time in which interviewees must be keen to impress. The way in which a man looks when they arrive at an interview can prove extremely important, especially during a formal interview. Unlike at a casual interview, a formal interview requires an interviewee to look their best and be at the top of their game. Fashion is crucial in such a situation.
Having freshly cut hair can add an air of polish to an applicant’s look at a formal interview. Hair that has recently been cut will look neat, fresh and professional.
Professionalism is the key to picking clothing for a formal interview. Solid and conservative colours are better than flashy touches. It is not necessary or wise to choose a tie that is eye-catching and bright. Simple can be better, especially in this case.
A dark, single-breasted suit is adequate for a formal interview. Under the suit, men may wish to try a plain white shirt or, at most, a solid blue shirt. Shoes should ideally be dark yet plain in colour. Oxford shoes with rounded toes and closed lacing work well for formal interview attire.
Overall, an interviewee’s look should be polished for best effect and that includes the shoes. Polishing shoes can make them look a lot sharper.
A few little touches can help an interviewee to get noticed. These small details may not be noticed by everyone, but those who do notice will respect the wearer’s fashion sense. For example, a pocket square with a square fold can be added to a jacket’s pocket. Jackets should only have two or three buttons and the sleeves should not extend past the knuckles. However, exposing just a little shirt cuff at the sleeves can complete the look.
How to Acquire Great Fitting Shirts
Clothes that fit always look better than clothes that do not fit right, regardless of how much they cost.
Many men may hold the misconception that purchasing a tailored shirt is difficult and expensive. In reality, purchasing a shirt that fits properly in the first instance eliminates the need for tailoring.
Firstly, a man should ensure that their chosen shirt fits well in the neck and shoulders. If the neck and shoulders do not fit correctly, the rest of the shirt will not fit in the way that a man desires. The collar should feel snug but not uncomfortable. Men should check the seam running from the shoulder to the sleeve. It should come to the edge of the shoulder, or close to it, enabling the shirt to hang properly.
Men should always try on a shirt before buying it. They should ensure that it does not pull across the chest as this means that it does not fit well. They should also take a look at the seams of the shirt. These should never pucker. Puckered seams are a sign that a shirt has been cheaply and poorly made.
The sleeves of a shirt should be long enough to cover the arms completely. Purchasing a shirt with sleeves that are a little short is not recommended. Sleeves can always be made shorter so men should ensure that the sleeves fit adequately or are just a little longer than is necessary.
Style time: Rockabilly
Rockabilly cannot really be described as a trend; no it’s more of a lifestyle which has been inspired by a fashion era. You can commit full with Rockabilly or you can at the very least incorporate features into your everyday style. Rockabilly is like Mod and Punk, styles defined by an era and bringing together people with a certain attitude and a common interest in music and style.
Clothing is simple; leather, dark denim 883 Police jeans and crisp white t-shirts or vests (depending on body confidence). Rockabilly has roots in rock and roll and country so elements from these styles mix and merge with a look that can be toughen out with a leather jacket and biker boots. In fact the clothing probably seems fairly simple, and your right, it is, it’s the accessories, style and attitude that finish it off. Big hair, think black slicked back quiffs, circa Elvis Presley through to Morrissey don’t forget the colourful tattoos, with these two elements you can’t go wrong!
I’ve mentioned biker boots because most men have these in their wardrobe now after being a fashion favourite for the past few seasons, however for the perfect Rockabilly look you need to be opting for creeper shoes. A love it or hate it style creeper shoes may not be to every man’s taste but do add the perfect touch to Rockabilly. Accessories are fairly simple; wayfarer sunglasses (black is good), braces, flat caps and porkpie hats and chunky metal jewellery. These can easily be added to your everyday wardrobe to give it some edge if you don’t want to go for full Rockabilly oh and don’t forget the attitude.
Fashion du jour: Turn-ups
At the end of summer there was a wave of turn-up (or roll-up) trousers hitting the highstreet, marking a turning point of a mini trend which has made its way into autumn/winter and onto next season no doubt. Mini trends like this are great, they offer an alternative to more prominent trends plus they have the ability to work with them as well.
You should be able to find turn-ups all over the highstreet there are plenty of offerings from ASOS, Republic clothing, Topman, Farah, and Polo Ralph Lauren plus plenty of guys such as Matt Smith and Wild Beasts rocking this retro look.
It’s important to make sure that you are wearing a good pair of socks and shoes with turn-ups as attention will be drawn to them. Trendsetters have been using this as an opportunity to rock some cool socks and dapper shoes why not have a look at tartan or Pringle prints in brighter colours for your socks and you can‘t go wrong with brogues .
The best fit trousers to use are those with a slightly tapered leg so when you roll up your trousers they will look neater, although you can buy trousers cut specifically to be rolled up. Accessorising correctly however will finish off the look, whether you want to go with an American preppy look, a dapper gentleman look or even a rockabilly look with your turn-ups. Just make sure you carry off this mini trend with the right attitude!
Cosy knitwear for men in fashion
Knitwear is everywhere this season, and with colour trends being incorporated into fashionable sweaters, this is a great time to buy a winter staple. Men’s knitwear has evolved a long way from the infamous “Christmas jumper.” It can be worn as outerwear, and also makes a great statement piece if worn under a jacket or blazer. Many well-known brands including Ben Sherman and Tommy Hilfiger have stylish, wearable knitwear in their autumn/winter collections.
With a huge array of colours and styles out there, knitwear is a look that can be worn well by absolutely everyone. Bright colours, bold stripes and fair-isle designs are very much back on trend, and a sweater is a great way to wear them well, without overloading. There is certainly a lot more to knitwear than just keeping warm.
V-neck sweaters are versatile as they can be worn over a shirt to complement jeans or even suit trousers, creating a simple but stylish look that works well from day through to night. Wear a V-neck instead of a jacket for a great smart/casual look.
Crew-neck sweaters are very much the look of the season. They look great with jeans and there is a huge range of colours and styles to choose from. A crew-neck adds style and flair to simple outfits. A smart sweater worn on a cold winter night out not only looks stylish but can also be very useful for keeping warm on the journey home.
Cardigans that fasten at the front with buttons or a zip have made something of a style comeback and the right piece can add flair to a casual outfit. Choose a cardigan in a comfortable wool fabric, in a colour that complements everything else.

The beginner’s guide to scarves for men
If men are only going to buy one accessory this season, make it a scarf. Adding a scarf to work or weekend wear gives instant colour, style and individuality to any look. It is also very simple to achieve. There are many brands and designs to choose from, and no man should ever be afraid to try something different. The key is to select a colour or combination that will complement other garments. Choose a quality wool fabric to maximise warmth and comfort.
A plain scarf is always going to be the safest option, but it does not need to be dull. For example, the Polo Ralph Lauren Lambswool scarf comes in a choice of six different shades.
This season, stripes are right on trend, and the multi-stripe scarf by Linea is available in five seasonal hues. Ted Baker’s College Striped scarf in charcoal works with a suit, and the Fred Perry Tartan warp stripe scarf is funky with a ribbed knit for the weekend.
A chunky knit scarf is the warmest option, and looks great with a biker or bomber jacket. For additional coverage and warmth, go for a cable knit scarf, such as The Original Penguin Chunky scarf. However, for the gentleman who is discerning but also a little chilly, a scarf in pure cashmere is where warm and cosy meets luxurious. If this is the way to go, check out the range by Burberry. By trying out different designs, it is easy to find one, two or even three great pieces that will give any outfit a touch of flair.
Fashion basics for men
You should have these items in your wardrobe:
Jeans
Not just one pair but two or three really good quality pairs in dark denim, lighter denim and a black pair. Police jeans can see you through any event whether really dressy but not an occasion for a suit or down at your local. Straight cut with no fancy detailing is what you are looking for, something that will easily go with anything else in your wardrobe.
Trousers
Trousers are seeing resurgence this season whether they are chino trousers, corduroy trousers or just coloured trousers. You don’t need a whole collection, just something to make a change from wearing jeans if the occasion arises.
Tops
Under tops you will find dress shirts, casual shirts, long sleeved tops (granddad tops) and t-shirts anything that goes on top really. Not forgetting during autumn winter, jumpers, hoodies and cardigans.
Suit
Self-explanatory really every guy needs a good well-fitting suit, as long as you don’t drastically gain/lose weight a good quality suit can last you years. The only thing you will probably find you change is the shirt and tie, depending on fashions and your tastes.
Outerwear
For the winter months a good wool coat will see you through the coldest of the UK weather and when we don’t have artic conditions then a jacket will do. I would probably say investing in a good quality black wool jacket in a classic style would be the best idea, something that will last you a number of years and won’t go out of style. Jackets on the other hand can be less expensive and you could go for more trend led styles.
You can really pick up some good brand bargains with clothing from Designerwear, so why not top up your wardrobe today, to make sure you have the essentials you need.
