At the end of summer there was a wave of turn-up (or roll-up) trousers hitting the highstreet, marking a turning point of a mini trend which has made its way into autumn/winter and onto next season no doubt. Mini trends like this are great, they offer an alternative to more prominent trends plus they have the ability to work with them as well.
You should be able to find turn-ups all over the highstreet there are plenty of offerings from ASOS, Republic clothing, Topman, Farah, and Polo Ralph Lauren plus plenty of guys such as Matt Smith and Wild Beasts rocking this retro look.
It’s important to make sure that you are wearing a good pair of socks and shoes with turn-ups as attention will be drawn to them. Trendsetters have been using this as an opportunity to rock some cool socks and dapper shoes why not have a look at tartan or Pringle prints in brighter colours for your socks and you can‘t go wrong with brogues .
The best fit trousers to use are those with a slightly tapered leg so when you roll up your trousers they will look neater, although you can buy trousers cut specifically to be rolled up. Accessorising correctly however will finish off the look, whether you want to go with an American preppy look, a dapper gentleman look or even a rockabilly look with your turn-ups. Just make sure you carry off this mini trend with the right attitude!
